Scott Knoer, Pharm.D., MS, FASHP is the Chief Pharmacy O cer at the Cleveland Clinic, where he leads the pharmacy enterprise with an $800 million drug budget and 1000 FTEs in 13 hospitals with facilities in Ohio, Florida, Las Vegas, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Abu Dhabi, UAE, and London.

Dr. Knoer earned a B.A. in psychology from Creighton University and his Pharm.D. from the University of Nebraska. He completed a two-year administrative residency and received an M.S. degree in hospital pharmacy from the University of Kansas in 1998.

He serves ASHP as the Immediate Past Chair of the Section of Pharmacy Practice Managers (SPPM) Multi-Hospital Executives and as Contributing Editor for Pharmacy Practice Management for AJHP, where he coordinates the CPO Perspectives column. He is a past chair of the SPPM and serves as Vice Chair elect for the Vizient / UHC Pharmacy Council.

Dr. Knoer is broadly published on a variety of topics including the pharmacy enterprise, the pharmacy practice model, leadership development, pharmacy management, healthcare delivery and nancing, building and leveraging key relationships, process improvement, benchmarking, international pharmacy, population health management and IV robotics.

Dr. Knoer has given more than 100 invited lectures to local, state, national and international audiences in the United States, Canada, Abu Dhabi, Saudi Arabia and Japan. He has been widely featured in the national news related to healthcare advocacy including authoring an Op Ed in Time Magazine on Drug Price Increases. He has also been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post and many other news outlets.
